As the President of the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees, Micah Ali has kept his promises to our community.
FACT: Under Micah Ali’s leadership, graduation rates have increased as have acceptance rates to both 2 and 4-year colleges. One of the high schools had 100% graduation and college acceptance in 2019.
FACT: Compared to 38 school districts similar in size and demographics Compton Unified School District’s math growth ranked number 1 in the state of California
FACT: Micah Ali fought to improve campus safety and expand after-school programs for our kids.
FACT: Micah Ali worked to open new school-based health centers and our district now provides breakfast, lunch, and supper to students in need at no charge.
FACT: Micah Ali led the way to implement new Advanced Placement programs and technology-related coursework throughout our school district. Today the district has over 22 AP Courses
FACT: Micah Ali secured new funding to help disabled and special education students.
FACT: Thanks to Micah Ali’s leadership, nine Compton Unified School Districts schools were recently named as top public schools in Los Angeles County for closing the achievement gap for low-income students. Five were named California Distinguished Schools.
FACT: Micah Ali supports programs for immigrant students that have resulted in ¼ of English Language Learner students recognized as English Language Proficient.
